Unravelling the pollination systems of threatened orchids
Many species of threatened plants are pollinated by insects. To conserve them effectively, we need to understand their pollination needs. We are working with NSW Saving our Species to unravell the pollination systems of threatened orchids such as Genoplesium insigne (pictured with its suspected pollinator, a tiny Chloropid fly), Genoplesium branwhithoreum and Thelymitra adorata (below with a potential pollinator)
